Transitions

Any group’s assimilation into American life is a slow, long process, typically taking generations. For many Hmong refugees moving to Wisconsin and Minnesota after surviving years of uncertainty in Southeast Asia, the initial transition was difficult. But the process was likewise difficult for receiving communities. This section addresses how Hmong Americans have made their own path in transitioning to a new life in the United States.
