Chinese Economics, Global Issues Forum
Many people in Wisconsin see and buy goods made in China, but have no idea how China impacts the area in other ways. To help inform the public of the importance of Chinese-U.S. economic relations in terms of costs and opportunities for central Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service, in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County, convened the 4th annual Global Issues Forum, "Costs and Opportunities: U.S.-Chinese Economic Relations and Central Wisconsin," on Monday, February 15, 2010 in the UWMC Theater.
Panelists were Jeremi Suri, Professor of History at UW-Madison; Sachn Chheda, Director of the Wisconsin Fair Trade Coalition from 2007-2009; Barbara J. Mihm, Associate Professor, and Gary E. Mullins, Professor of Business/Economics at UW-Stevens Point; Paul Hsu, Hsu's Ginseng Enterprises; and John Krueger, Greenheck Fan Corporation. Panel moderator was Jeff Leigh, Professor of History at UWMC.
A question and answer session followed the presentations.
Video to come.
